The History of ACEBSA

All City Employee Benefits Services Association or ACEBSA was founded in 1923, originally the All City Employees Association, to lobby for retirement funds and salary increases for city employees. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength, founding the El Pueblo city newspaper to bring employees from different divisions and departments together and informed about relevant news and information including info on electoral options and local bonds, as well as events in the area. Employees are encouraged to submit their own articles.

ACEBSA strive to help city employees with every part of their lives, education of city employees is very important to us; so important that we have introduced tuition reimbursements including the Tom Bradley scholarship opportunity to aid workers in achieving their educational goals.

Universal Studios LA - also known as Universal Studios Hollywood - is a movie lot and movie-themed amusement park in Universal City, California. As one of the oldest movie studios that is still in operation today, the theme park addition was added and opened for tourists in 1964, ensuring you can really enjoy your time here, especially by getting a great discount on ticket prices from us here at ACEBSA.

You will find that the theme park at Universal Studios LA is divided into two parts: the Upper Lot and the Lower Lot. For those ACESBA members that are a little older Universal's house of horrors is a year-round haunted house handily located in the upper lot, guaranteed to give you a massive fright with attractions that include, several real-life performers dressed up as scary movie characters, like Frankenstein, the Wolfman and Mother Bates from Psycho. It is a great attraction for teens and adults alike.

For guests who are not interested in rides will still find plenty to do on the upper lot, as there are many shows that are performed throughout the day, every day! The Special Effects stage wows crowds with special effects and demonstrations, while the show water world, a live sea world Spectacular is a fun water show themed around the 1995 Kevin Costner flick Waterworld. There are two 3-D movies that show regularly at Universal Studios as well, so there is always something exciting to participate in and to watch. Shrek 4-D is fun for small children, while T2 3D: Battle across Time provides entertainment for older kids and adults.

The upper lot is where guests can take in a tour of the movie studio, and have the opportunity to ride around on a tram while a tour guide takes them to famous movie sets where they can see things like the courthouse from Back to the Future and the Bates Motel from Psycho.

The lower lot is accessible from the upper lot via a series of escalators known as the Starway. The lower lot is home to more rides and attractions, such as the water-based Jurassic Park: The ride and revenge of the Mummy. Both of these rides are most appropriate for older children and adults. With many more rides being planned, built and opened in the near future, Universal Studios is definitely worth the great savings you can make by ordering tickets from ACEBSA.

With 160 acres divided into five themed areas, Knotts Berry Farm offers live shows, attractions and thrilling world-class rides for all. Within the themed areas, tucked amongst wild rides, are delicious dining spots and shopping areas for perfect souvenirs. The five areas have distinctive motifs for adventures, rides, dining and shows.

Camp Snoopy offers the popular Snoopy Bounce house for children, Charlie Brown's Speedway stock cars on a track, and other rides to keep the little ones satisfied. This includes a giant skateboard ride called Joe Cool's GR8 SK8, a mini scrambler called the Log Peeler and Woodstock's Airmail. This Airmail ride is a child's version of the Supreme Scream. Children will scream with pleasure and surprise on these rides and others, including the Red Baron and the Balloon Race which lifts them up above Camp Snoopy. If that isn't enough, they can ride on the Camp Bus or the Grand Sierra Scenic Railroad.

Older children and adults will find thrilling rides throughout the park. Roller Coasters are big at Knotts Berry Farm. Traveling 118' above the Ghost Town area, the wooden roller coaster called Ghost Rider is one of their largest attractions. The park rates coasters by aggressive thrill and high thrill. The Ghost Rider is rated aggressive thrill! Other coasters rated aggressive include the Boomerang, (which takes you through high loops and back backwards), The Silver Bullet, Xcelerator and Montezooma's Revenge. More coasters are rated high thrill.

While coasters and children's rides are big draws, the farm offers thrill rides, family rides and water rides also. The High Sierra Ferris Wheel and Butterfield Stagecoach are enjoyable family rides as are the Sky Cabin and the Dragon Swing. If the Dragon Swing isn't thrilling enough, try the Screamin' Swing or Supreme Swing. They promise to fulfil the need for quick thrilling rushes of adrenalin.

While Knotts Berry Farm offers many different coasters, thrill rides, family rides, children rides and water rides, they also offer great shows for their visitors. At the Wagon Camp, the "Fool's Gold" stunt show is a lot of fun for everyone. Storytellers tell of Native American culture at the Mystery Lodge and the Indian Trails Stage has Native Dance and Music. Camp Snoopy Theatre stars Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang on the farm.

A day of family fun can be had by visiting the San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park. The park showcases some of the most exotic and fascinating creatures in the world. There are also many more activities for visitors to enjoy and get involved in. Getting around the park is easy too as trams are available to take you through the many exciting exhibits. Certain exhibits allow visitors to disembark and explore the amazing surroundings. Conifers towering high in the sky can be seen inside Conifer Forest. Visitors can also learn about Southern California plant life inside the Nativescapes Garden.

For an even more authentic safari experience, visitors can arrange an overnight stay in a comfortable tent. The campground is situated near the African Plains exhibit, where guests can observe many species of wild African animals in a natural setting.
